Abbey Herod, after a standout career at Boston College, joined the Ohio State women's lacrosse staff in the summer of 2026 as an assistant coach.

A native of Canandaigua, N.Y., and graduate of Canandaigua Academy, Herod spent four years with the Eagles. She played in 71 games, starting 35 over the last two years, with 253 draw controls (ranking fifth all-time in program history) and five points on two goals and three assists. As a senior in 2026, she had a team-high 81 draw controls to rank 10th in the ACC. She was part of a senior class that won a national championship in 2024 and had three NCAA semifinal appearances, along with claiming two ACC titles.

Herod earned First Team All-ACC accolades and Honorable Mention USA Lacrosse and ILWomen.com All-America accolades as a junior in 2025 when she recorded a career-best 104 draw controls. She was a four-time ACC All-Academic Team honoree. She earned her bachelor's degree in management, with a concentration in marketing and business analytics.
