2015 (Senior Season): Played in all 35 matches and made eight starts during her lone season as a Buckeye … recipient of the Coaches Award, selected by the coaching staff for `exemplifying what it means to be a Buckeye teammate, mentor, role model and all-around person representing the program’ … also picked up the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award and earned OSU Scholar-Athlete recognition … assisted on at least one kill in 34 of 35 contests, putting up a total of 485 assists (4.37/set) for the season … started four of the first five matches to start the year and four Big Ten tilts midseason … earned the starting nod at No. 23 Michigan (10/24) and immediately embraced The Rivalry with a double-double comprising of 54 assists and 15 digs as she led the Buckeyes to victory over `That School Up North’ … chipped in three block assists against the Wolverines as well … also steered OSU to B1G triumphs at Maryland (11/6) and Rutgers (11/7) as the starting setter … picked up a double-double in the opening weekend as well, notching 30 assists and 10 digs while sweeping Butler (8/29).
Prior to Ohio State: Graduated with an accounting degree from Texas Tech University (currently pursuing an Ohio State Master’s degree in accounting) … played in 77 matches spanning three years as a Red Raider … dished out 2,739 assists (9.68/set) as the primary setter in 2012-13 before splitting duties in a 6-2 offense in 2014 … totaled 645 digs, 102 blocks, 84 kills and 38 services aces for Texas Tech … ranked third in the Big 12 with 10.35 assists per set in 2013 … racked up 71 assists in a five-set victory over Houston Baptist (9/14/12), marking the most by any Big 12 player that entire season … three-time Academic All-Big 12 honoree.
Personal: Daughter of Derrick and the late Connie Ruetter … has a younger sister, Melissa, who plays high school volleyball … Derrick played several seasons of minor league baseball after signing a pro contract with the Toronto Blue Jays out of high school.
