Andrew Lutschaunig joins the coaching staff in August 2026 as the men's tennis program's new assistant coach, taking over the role from Hunter Callahan.Â
Lutschaunig, an alum of the program, returns just two years after graduating from Ohio State. Following graduation, Lutschaunig spent time working as a coach at Kass Tennis Academy in Columbus, Ohio. After a year there, he transferred his skills over to collegiate coaching where he spent the 2025-26 season with the Dayton Flyers. While working with the Flyers, Lutschaunig helped lead the team to a 18-7 record, going 5-0 in conference play and an appearance at the Atlantic 10 conference final.Â
As a player, Lutschaunig saw success on the court, especially in the 2022-23 season. During that year, he won the 2022 ITA Fall National Doubles Championship and the 2023 NCAA Doubles Championship. His win at the 2023 NCAA Doubles Championship made him a member of just the second doubles pairing to win a national championship in program history. In his career, Lutschaunig totaled 18 wins in singles and 68 wins in doubles, highlighted by a 31-9 doubles record and 14 ranked wins in the 2022-23 season.
