Ohio State Overview• Steele was a three-year starter at linebacker for the Buckeyes and played a total of five seasons, including his first two years as a running back
• Had one more season of eligibility remaining because of the COVID-19 season of 2020, but elected to turn pro and prepare for the NFL Draft
• He earned four Varsity O letters and graduated in the spring of 2023 with his degree in finance
• Played in 50 games: four and seven games at running back in 2019 and 2020, respectively; and 39 at linebacker the past three seasons
• He was a sturdy, speedy and standout linebacker for the Buckeyes the past after switching from running back to linebacker during the 2021 fall camp
• Recorded 207 tackles, including a team-leading 83 in 2023 and 77 in 2022 to rank second on the team
• Started 29 games at linebacker; the last four games in 2021, all 13 in 2022 and 12 in 2023
• His 2023 stats included a team-high 41 solo tackles and his fourth career interception, vs. Western Kentucky
• Had a career-high 13 tackles at Michigan and eight vs. both Western Kentucky and vs. Missouri in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl
• 2022 season stats included 6.5 TFLs and an interception vs. Rutgers
• Recoverd a fumble and scored from the 1 to clinch the 43-30 win over Maryland
• Established a then-career-high with 11 tackles (and eight solo stops) vs. Rutgers and also had 10 vs. Indiana, nine vs. Penn State, and eight vs. both Northwestern and vs. Georgia in the CFP semifinals at the Peach Bowl
• First two interceptions came vs. Nebraska and Purdue in 2021
• Played in all 13 games in 2021 and started four times at linebacker
• Ranked fifth on the team with 47 tackles
• Played in a total of 11 games for the Buckeyes as a running back/special teamer in 2019 and 2020, including playing in seven of eight contests in 2020
• Has career rushing stats of 221 yards off 28 carries with a 7.9 yards per carry average
• Averaged 9.6 yards per carry in 2020 with 87 rush yards off nine carries
• Had 63 yards on eight carries and his first collegiate touchdown vs. Miami (Ohio) in 2019 for his high game rushing
• Off the field, is a two-time OSU Scholar-Athlete and a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree
