Zach Higgins joined Ohio State as the assistant director of football strength and conditioning in 2022 and has more than a decade of collegiate strength and conditioning experience.Â
Prior to arriving in Columbus, Higgins spent three seasons at Cincinnati from 2019-21 after serving at Maryland from 2017-18. He also worked at Miami (Ohio) during the 2016 season, assisting with baseball, synchronized skating, swimming and diving, track and field, and football.Â
Before entering the coaching profession full time, Higgins spent the 2015 season at Michigan State as an offensive student assistant and worked as an administrative coach during the spring semester, assisting with winter conditioning.Â
A former Spartan student-athlete, Higgins was part of Michigan State teams that won the 2012 Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl, the 2014 Rose Bowl, and the 2015 Cotton Bowl. He earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Michigan State in 2016.Â
He is a native of Alliance, Ohio.Â
