Erin Dunston joined The Ohio State University football program in March of 2021 and was promoted to Assistant AD, Football Recruiting & Events in February 2024 after working the previous three years as the Director of On-Campus Recruiting. In her role, Dunston is responsible for managing the budget associated with on-campus recruiting and coordinating all recruiting efforts with a primary focus on official visits, unofficial visits, game day recruiting programming, junior days and special events. Dunston also works in conjunction with the creative staff to support social media channels.
Dunston was featured in NBC Sports ‘On Her Turf’ series in November of 2023. A series that empowers and inspires women and shines a light on women in sports who are champions on and off the field.
Dunston held a similar role at the University of Kansas where she also managed the head coach’s recruiting efforts including organizing recruiting call schedules, and overseeing his communication calendar. During the 2020-2021 season with the Jayhawks, Dunston assumed football operations responsibilities where she was responsible for maintaining the roster/scholarship numbers, assisting with team travel, practice operations, liaison to the Dept. of Athletics, prompt payment of vendors and ensuring the program adheres to the rules and regulations of the NCAA.
Prior to her arrival in Lawrence Dunston spent a year at Purdue University, where she served as the Athletics Administration Associate. In her role at Purdue, Dunston collaborated with internal and external personnel to achieve organizational objectives, implement project management processes, renovate the substance and abuse drug policy and assist with community relations and engagement.
Dunston spent two years at Louisiana State University where she was a graduate student assistant with the football operations staff. At LSU she assisted the head coach, assistant coaches and the football operations staff with all daily and game-day tasks including team travel, pre-game events, practice operations and daily scheduling.
Dunston completed her master’s degree in kinesiology with a concentration in pedagogy and psychological sciences from LSU in May 2017. She earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from the University of Delaware in May 2015.
