Ohio State Overview
• Jesse has handled all of the punting and holding responsibilities for Ohio State for three years since arriving on campus in 2021
• He is a three-year Varsity O letterwinner with 129 career punts to his credit and a career average of 44.0 yards per punt which ranks fourth in school history
• He has dropped 55 punts inside the 20, has 31 over 50 yards and has only had eight touchbacks
• He has punted more than three times in a game only 14 times out of 39 games played
• Averaged 43.7 yards per punt as a junior in 2023 and ranked fifth in the Big Ten Conference and 32nd nationally
• He punted a career-high eight times in the Cotton Bowl vs. Missouri, for a 48.3 yard average
• His best season came as a sophomore in 2022 when he averaged 45.4 yards per punt to rank 12th nationally and third in the Big Ten Conference
• He was a semifinalist for the Ray Guy award in 2022
• His 45.4 average in 2022 is the sixth-best single season average in Ohio State history and it includes a 50.3-yard average against Northwestern for the ninth-best punting game in school history (min. 5 punts)
• Punted career-high seven times for a career-high 352 yards in windy, windy conditions at Northwestern
• Other top punting games in 2022 were at Michigan State and at Penn State when he averaged 52.0 yards per punt off three punts, respectively
• Averaged 42.3 yards per punt in 2021
• Only punted 31 times in 2021 and did not qualify for NCAA rankings
• Mirco is a two-time OSU Scholar-Athlete, a Big Ten Conference Distinguished Scholar and a two-time Academic All-Big Ten Conference honoree majoring in sport industry
