Tony Washington Jr. was hired as an assistant, working with the Ohio State defensive line, in February of 2025 by Ohio State head coach Ryan Day.
Washington Jr., comes to Ohio State after spending the 2024 season at UCLA as an assistant coach working with the defensive line and outside linebackers.
His coaching experience includes positions at Nebraska and Oregon, his alma mater. He was a graduate assistant with the Cornhuskers for two seasons – 2019, 2020 – and then worked in numerous capacities with the Ducks from 2021-23, including assistant defensive line coach in 2022 and outside linebackers coach in 2023.
The Los Angeles native played four seasons with the Ducks from 2011-14 along the defensive line and totaled 158 tackles and 26 tackles-for-loss, including 14.5 sacks.
