Tony Johnson joined the Ohio State football staff in 2024 and he currently serves as Senior Analyst & Offensive Personnel Coordinator. He joined the staff after spending the previous two years coaching at Olentangy Berkshire Middle School in Galena, Ohio.

Johnson brings a playing background at Penn State, where he was a wide receiver from 2000-03 and finished his career with 107 receptions for 1,702 yards and 11 touchdowns. After his playing days, he spent 10 years working for Fischer Homes before entering coaching at the middle school level.

Johnson is a 2004 graduate of PSU where he earned his bachelors of science in sociology, and he is the son of Ohio State Associate Head Coach / Defensive Line Coach Larry Johnson.
