Sam Buoni joined the Ohio State athletic training staff in July 2026 as an Intern Athletic Trainer working with the football program. He arrived in Columbus after completing his master’s degree in athletic training at Otterbein University in May 2026, where he also earned his bachelor’s degree in allied health in 2024. Â
Buoni gained extensive experience during his clinical training at Ohio State, where he worked with the football and men’s ice hockey programs and helped with daily practice and game coverage, injury rehabilitation, sports science testing and training room operations. Â
He also completed clinical rotations at Dublin Scioto High School and Otterbein University, building experience across a range of sports and settings. In addition to his collegiate training, Buoni spent more than four years as a medical liaison with DASCO HME LLC, where he coordinated durable medical equipment deliveries and patient education. He is a licensed athletic trainer in Ohio and a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.Â
