Miguel Patrick
Quality Control, DefenseÂ
Miguel Patrick returned to the Ohio State coaching staff in March 2025 after spending the past two seasons as defensive line coach at Alabama Birmingham. He will work as a quality control coach for the defense with the Buckeyes.Â
While at UAB, Patrick coached first-team all-AAC defensive end Desmond Little, who had 17.5 tackles-for-loss, including 11.5 quarterback sacks, and is now with the Indianapolis Colts.Â
Patrick was a member of coach Ryan Day’s staff in 2022, also as a quality control coach. Following Ohio State’s run in the College Football Playoffs that year, he moved on to coach at UAB.Â
Â
Patrick first came to Ohio State after a fine high school coaching career in Georgia, where he led Ellenwood Cedar Grove to a state championship in his first season as a head coach in 2019. He also helped Cedar Grove win state 3-A championships in 2016 and 2018 as the defensive coordinator.
Â
He left Cedar Grove, where he compiled a 17-7 record, to become head coach at Cordele (Ga.) Crisp County in 2021. He led the Cougars to a 9-4 record, a region championship and a trip to the state quarterfinals that season.
Â
Patrick played linebacker at Alabama State and graduated in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. He went on to earn his Master’s from Kennesaw State in Educational Leadership in 2018.
Â
Patrick has three children, Zari Ingram, Khali Patrick and Mason Patrick.
