Matthew Horgan joined the Ohio State athletic training staff in June 2026 as an intern athletic trainer working with the football program.Â
Horgan brings a combined background in athletic training and physical therapy, with experience across collegiate athletics and the NFL. During his time at Kent State, he worked with the football, baseball and women’s basketball programs, and later gained additional collegiate experience at both Gannon and Mercyhurst. He also spent the 2020 season with the Cleveland Browns as a seasonal physical therapy and athletic training intern.Â
Horgan earned his bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Kent State University in 2017 before completing his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Gannon University in 2020. He is a licensed physical therapist and certified athletic trainer. Â
