Kevin Ries oversees the day-to-day equipment operations for the Ohio State football program as Assistant AD of Equipment Services, Football. In addition to his responsibilities with equipment purchasing, maintenance, repair, inventory, travel logistics and budgeting, he also has played a key role in the program’s uniform operation and presentation, helping support Ohio State’s evolving visual identity on game days.Â
Ries has been part of Ohio State Athletics since 2009 and has held a series of roles with the department, including equipment intern for Olympic sports, football equipment intern, equipment manager and director of equipment services for football before being named to his current position in 2023. His experience has helped shape the Buckeyes’ approach to both performance and appearance, including the program’s continued emphasis on uniform detail and brand consistency.Â
A Columbus native and Bishop Ready High School graduate, Ries earned his bachelor’s degree in sport management from Xavier University in 2007, where he served as a basketball manager for three seasons. He is certified by the Athletic Equipment Managers Association.
