Kevin Nerl rejoined the Ohio State football program in July 2018 as Assistant Director of Football Equipment Services after previously serving as a student football manager for the Buckeyes from 2011-14. He manages all aspects of the program’s equipment operation, including budgeting, procurement, repair and maintenance, equipment fitting and travel logistics.Â
Before returning to Columbus, Nerl gained professional experience with the Cincinnati Bengals as an equipment assistant and later with the Philadelphia Phillies as a minor league operations assistant. His background also includes leadership experience on Ohio State’s student football manager staff, where he served as head student football manager after beginning his Buckeye career as a student manager.Â
A Cincinnati native and Mariemont High School graduate, Nerl earned his bachelor’s degree in English from Ohio State in 2014. He is a certified equipment manager.
