A veteran NFL assistant, Josh Boyer is in his first season as a quality control coach on the Ohio State coaching staff.
Boyer, a native of Heath, Ohio and graduate of Muskingum College, spent 13 years on the New England Patriots coaching staff. He began in 2006 as a defensive assistant and ascended to the team’s cornerback coach from 2012 through 2018. The Patriots won three Super Bowls during Boyer’s time on staff.
In 2019, Boyer followed Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores and served as the team’s cornerbacks coach. He was then promoted to defensive coordinator in 2020.
Boyer’s college coaching stops include stints at Kings College (2000), Dayton (2001), Kent State (2002-03), Bryant (2004) and South Dakota School of Mines (2005).
