Gunner Daniel joined the Buckeyes in 2023 as an Assistant Special Teams Coordinator after a playing career that included stops at Wagner College and Boston College. A native of Marysville, Ohio, Daniel has experience as both a long snapper and a young coach who has worked in a variety of roles across college football.Â
Daniel spent the 2021 and 2022 seasons at Boston College after beginning his collegiate career at Wagner, where he was a two-year starter and earned All-NEC recognition. During his time at Wagner, he developed into one of the league’s top long snappers and finished his college career with 10 tackles across 42 games played. He also spent time at Ball State early in his career before transferring to Wagner.Â
Before arriving at Ohio State, Daniel gained coaching experience as a lead instructor at Hammer Kicking Academy from 2018-23 and as an assistant coach for the 2023 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl. He served in multiple roles for the event, including working with special teams and operations.Â
Daniel earned his bachelor’s degree from Wagner College in 2020 and completed his master’s degree at Boston College in 2022.Â
