Dan Cencer joined The Ohio State University as an assistant sport scientist in October 2021 after previously serving as a strength and conditioning intern with the program beginning in May of that year.

Prior to arriving at Ohio State, he gained experience in sports science as a strength and conditioning intern with the football program at Western Michigan University, where he developed his expertise in data analysis and athlete performance.

A native of Detroit, Michigan, Dan earned his bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences (2018) and his master’s degree in exercise physiology (2021), both from Western Michigan University. He also completed a second master’s degree in sport analytics at the University of Mississippi in Spring 2024.

He holds Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Certified Performance and Sport Scientist (CPSS) certifications through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
