- Mother's friend was an epee fencer on the Kazakhstan National Team, which led her to trying the sport
- Moved to the United States in 2022 and has been in love with fencing since that point
- Onwhy she chose Ohio State: "It made me feel like home for those two days on my official visit. Just looking at their practices, I felt like the team is a big family and I wanted to join that family. Everyone tried to improve and help each other do the same. That was something I didn't see on other teams and that was the most important team value for me."
