
Ohio State Collegiate Mascot Camp & Coaches Workshop
Get ready for an immersive, high-impact day designed to elevate both performers and programs. This all-day collegiate mascot camp delivers a dynamic blend of hands-on training, creative development, and strategic program insight—all led by experienced coaches and staff in the Brutus Buckeye program who understand what it takes to succeed at the highest level.
Core Mascot Development Sessions
Throughout the day, participants will dive into essential fundamentals that define elite mascot performance:
Character Definition, Refinement & Development – Build a clear, consistent identity that brings your mascot to life
Effective Community Engagement – Learn how to connect meaningfully beyond game day
Fan Engagement Techniques – Create memorable, high-energy interactions that elevate the crowd experience
Foundations of Improv – Develop quick thinking and adaptability in live environments
Elective Workshops (Customized Growth Opportunities)
In addition to core sessions, participants can expand their skill set through specialized elective workshops:
Skit & Bit Development and Performance – Turn ideas into polished, crowd-ready moments
Cheer, Band & Dance Integration – Seamlessly collaborate with spirit groups for unified performances
Costume & Props 101 – Maximize performance quality through effective use of gear and visual elements
Coaches & Advisors Workshop
While performers are training, coaches and advisors will have their own dedicated session focused on navigating the collegiate mascot landscape. Topics include:
Common program challenges
Leadership and oversight strategies
Building consistency, accountability, and culture within your team
Program Consultation (Optional Add-On)
Take your experience even further with a 90-minute virtual consultation designed specifically for your program.
Scheduled separately for flexibility
Includes performers, coaches, and/or advisors
A deep dive into your program’s current structure, challenges, and goals
Actionable recommendations to help align your vision and elevate your program

Camp Information
Date: August 8th or 15th
Grades: Undergraduate and Graduate Students – Freshman - Seniors
Location: The Covelli Center at the Ohio State University
Camp Staff: Campers will be coached by current Ohio State Spirit Program Members & Coaches

Enrollment
The fee for the Ohio State Collegiate Mascot Camp & Coaches Workshop will be $150 per participant.
The fee for the Ohio State Collegiate Mascot Camp, Coaches Workshop and the Program Consultation will be $250 per participant.
There is a maximum number of campers permitted in each of these camps, so register early! Full payment is required at the time of registration. You may register online by visiting OhioStateBuckeyes.com/camps-and-clinics. A 3% processing fee will be added to all online registrations. There will be no walk-ups permitted for this camp, all participants must register in advance.
Equipment
All campers are responsible for bringing their own equipment. No equipment will be provided for ANY camper.
Meals and Housing
This is a day camp only and no meals or overnight accommodation will be provided. Campers are responsible for providing their own overnight accommodation if needed. Hotel information can be provided upon request.Â
There are a variety of dining options within a 3-mile radius of campus. The camp will be structured for a lunch break. We can provide restaurant recommendations upon request.
Required Forms for Participation
The Parent Consent, Waiver & Release Form AND the Concussion Information Form are REQUIRED for all participants. These forms must be completed during online registrations. Campers will not be permitted to participate without these forms.
Confirmation
Once your registration is approved, you will be emailed with a confirmation of payment notice. One week prior to camp, you will also be sent an email with important camp details. This information will also be posted online at OhioStateBuckeyes.com/camps-and-clinics. Please check your email regularly as this is our primary method of communication with campers and their parents.
Registration closes on 8/4 or once capacity is reached. Detailed check-in, parking, and performance information to come!Â
Parking
You will be able to park in the Buckeye Lots directly west of the Covelli Center. A link for payment to park will be provided as we near the date of the camp.
What To Bring
Along with your full mascot suits, we recommend bringing extra T-shirts, shorts, and tennis shoes. Water and breaks will be provided
Spectators
Spectators are welcome to sit in the stands during the camp
Refunds
A refund less a $30 administration fee will be issued for any cancellation received by at least 2 weeks prior to the start of each camp. The administration fee and the 3% online processing fee are not refundable for ANY reason. Â
Because we must guarantee the number of campers to prepare for camp, any cancellation received less than 2 weeks prior to the start of each session will not be eligible for any refund except in the case of injury, illness, or mandatory school event, in which case supporting documentation from a doctor or school is required.Â
A camp fee may not be transferred to any other Ohio State sports camp. A camp fee may not be transferred to any other camper. All cancellation notices must be received by the deadline above and received by phone or email. All refund requests must be submitted within 10 days after the conclusion of the camp session. Refund requests must be submitted on the Refund Request Form available at OhioStateBuckeyes.com/camps. This form is found on the homepage all the way at the bottom in red letters “Request a Refund”. Campers who are injured while at camp but remain at camp will not be eligible for any refund. Â
