Men's Ice Hockey vs. No. 2 Michigan State
The unranked men’s hockey team defeated No. 2-ranked Michigan State at home in January, 2-1, behind goals from Nathan Lewis and Davis Burnside and 26 saves from goalie Sam Hillebrandt.

Men's Lacrosse vs. Notre Dame
The then-ranked No. 15 Ohio State men’s lacrosse team went in to Arlotta Field in South Bend, Ind. to defeat No. 2 Notre Dame, the defending national champion, in its first home game of the season. The teams traded leads throughout the game. The game was tied with 32 seconds left in the fourth quarter and the Buckeyes went on to score the game-winning goal with seven seconds on the clock for its fourth win in six meetings against the Irish.

Brutus – Crossing out M vs. TTUN
As the Buckeyes were putting rival Michigan away in the second half last November in Ann Arbor, Brutus was creating his own masterpiece on the field. As snow fell during a time out, Brutus used the precipitation to create a Script Ohio and capped it off by crossing out an M in the endzone.

JJ Coleman - Perfect 10
JJ Coleman etched her name in the Buckeye women’s gymnastics record book, scoring a perfect 10 in the team’s 2026 home finale. Her 10.0 on floor was the first for the team since 2003 and she became the second gymnast in the Big Ten this season to record the score. The milestone came after she had been scoring a 9.900 or higher in all but one of the Buckeyes’ eight meets entering the weekend.
Women’s Ice Hockey – Olympic Representation
The Ohio State women’s hockey team had five current and seven alumnae playing at the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympics to tie for the most representatives of any school. Ohio State was the only school with a player on every team in the semifinals with 11 of the 12 players advancing to the medal round. In all, eight Ohio State players won Olympic medals with three – Joy Dunne, Cayla Barnes and Hannah Bilka – winning gold with Team USA.

Men’s Lacrosse – B1G Title
The Buckeyes finished the 2025 regular season 12-2 and 4-1 in Big Ten play, winning the program’s first Big Ten regular season title and earning the top seed in the conference tournament. The team defeated Rutgers, 11-7, in the B1G Tournament semifinal and went on to beat Maryland, 14-10, in the championship game to capture the team’s first Big Ten tournament title in program history.

Brandon Carpico & Nikita Filin – Men’s Tennis
Brandon Carpico and Nikita Filin reached the finals of the 2025 NCAA doubles Championship in Orlando, Florida this past fall. Filin and Carpico finished as runner-up in the event.
The performance earned the pair All-America honors.

Pistol
The Ohio State pistol team continued its dominance with its fifth consecutive national championship last March. The overall individual aggregate winner was Ohio State's Marcus Klemp, who had a final score of 1140

Spirit
Ohio State’s spirit squad started out 2025 by winning its second consecutive national championship on the first day of the UCA/UDA College Nationals. OSU's spirit program won the national championship in the gameday division.

Women’s Soccer
The women’s soccer team had a record setting defense in 2025, which allowed the Buckeyes to reach the Elite 8 for just the third time in program history. The Buckeyes set a program record with 739 consecutive shutout minutes, spanning nine matches. Their NCAA Tournament run featured three-consecutive wins over ranked opponents.
Wrestling
The Ohio State Wrestling Team finished 18-1 in dual competition with a 7-1 record in Big Ten Conference duals. The Buckeyes finished undefeated at the Covelli Center for the first time. At the 2026 Big Ten Championships, Ohio State took second behind a pair of individual champions. Senior Jesse Mendez won his second league title at 141 pounds while freshman Ben Davino earned the 133 title.

Men’s Lacrosse
The 2025 men’s lacrosse season was full of milestones and program-firsts. The team finished the year with a 14-3 record and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2022 and hosted an NCAA Tournament game at Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium for the first time. The team won the Big Ten regular season and tournament for the first time in program history. The team was ranked as high as No. 2 in the country and went on an 11-game win streak. The team recorded just the 14th 10-win season in the program’s 76-year history.

Softball vs. Michigan (sweep)
Ohio State earned its first sweep over Michigan in dramatic fashion, earning come-from-behind wins in the first two games and then finishing off the sweep with a 15-7 run-rule win capped by Hadley Parisien walk-off home run.

Men’s Swim & Dive vs Michigan
The then-No. 16 men’s swimming and diving team earned a 167-133 victory over then-No. 11 Michigan at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion. The Buckeyes won nine events.

Football vs. Michigan
The Buckeyes limited Michigan to less than 200 yards of total offense and used three Julian Sayin touchdown passes to cap off their undefeated regular season with a 27-9 win at Michigan Stadium.

Freshman of the Year
Hilda Svensson – Women’s Ice Hockey
Hilda Svensson led freshmen nationally for much of the 2025-26 season in points and assists before heading to Italy to play in her first Olympic Games for Team Sweden. While at the Olympics, she tied for the team lead with seven points and six assists to help the team to its first Olympic semifinal appearance since 2014. She now has 50 points on the year and is just the second Buckeye rookie to record a 50-point season. Svensson is three points shy of tying the program record for points in a rookie campaign.

Paige Guggenbiller – Women’s Rowing
Women’s Rowing Earned a spot on the Big Ten All-Freshman Team in 2025 while rowing for Ohio State’s 3V8.

Andrew Rohde – Men’s Cross Country
Men’s Cross Country In his first collegiate season, Andrew finished in the Buckeyes’ Top 7 in all six events, including the Big Ten and NCAA Regional meets. He ran one of the fastest times by a freshman in team history during the year.

Khalif Hocker – Men’s Lacrosse
Hocker has played in six of the team’s seven games this season after coming back from an injury. He has a goal in every game he’s played and recorded hat tricks against Bellarmine and Air Force. Hocker has six goals and six assists for 12 points on the year with 10 ground balls.

Cheer
In between winning national championships, the cheer team helps create memorable environments for other Buckeye teams by bringing energy and enthusiasm.
Women’s Rowing - Members of the women’s rowing team are at many Buckeye home events, despite their busy athletic and academic schedules. The team shares invites and schedules for other teams to go support their fellow Buckeyes. The team also works hard to provide support to all the athletes on the team.

The rifle Buckeyes can be seen at many sporting events throughout the season when they’re not competing.

The women’s swimming and diving team is often seen supporting their fellow Buckeyes at other sporting events around campus and had a particularly fun time cheering on the women’s hockey team at the OSU Ice Rink earlier this season.
Comeback Player of the Year
Leonie Corbeil – Artistic Swimming
Leonie consistently puts the team before herself and pushes everyone around her to be better. Her dedication, hard work, and leadership make her an incredible teammate and role model.

Aniya Mosley – Women’s Cross Country
Women’s Cross Country (Injury) After missing the 2025 indoor track season because of injury, Aniya earned All-Big Ten and All-Region honors during the 2025 cross country season. She individually qualified for NCAA Cross Country Championships. During the 2026 indoor track season, Aniya has broken three program records by more than two seconds apiece – 800m (2:01.44), 1000m (2:42.87) and mile (4:28.30).
Ruby Remati – Artistic Swimming
Ruby is an Olympic silver medalist, yet she is one of the most humble and kind people on our team. She cares deeply about her teammates and always brings creativity, positivity, and support to our team environment.

Nate Demian – Men’s Soccer
Appeared in 13 games while starting 10 after missing the 2024 College Cup with life-threatening injuries. Returned to the pitch to play a total of 971 minutes for the Buckeyes in 2025.

Jack Agnew – Men’s Cross Country
Coming off a knee injury, Jack was able to fight back and compete for the Buckeyes in two events, including the Big Ten cross country championships, all while running on a torn meniscus.

Kaia Malachino – Women’s Ice Hockey
Kaia Malachino missed the first half of the women’s hockey season due to injury and made her Buckeye debut in the team’s first series of 2026 vs. No. 4 Penn State. She recorded an assist in her first game and scored a goal in game two of the series. Since making her debut in the lineup, Malachino has scored 11 goals, with five on the power play, and reorded six assists for 17 points in 20 games played this year. She recorded her first career hat trick against Bemidji State.

Dance National Championship
The dance team continued its national dominance by taking first in the D1A Jazz finals in January at the UCA & UDA National Championship in Orlando. The dance team's D1 Jazz title is its third consecutive and sixth in the last seven years.

Men’s Swimming, 800 Free Relay
At the Big Ten Championships, the 800 free relay team of Tomas Navikonis, Cornelius Jahn, Jordi Vilchez and Tristan Jankovics won gold. Their time of 6:06.64 is the second-fastest time in the country this season, as well as being an Ohio State program record and a Big Ten Champiponships meet record.
