Buckeye Learn to Row Camp
This day camp will provide an opportunity for female athletes to be introduced to the rowing stroke while receiving instruction and feedback from Ohio State coaches. Athletes will learn the rowing motion and basics on land before moving onto the water. No previous experience is necessary!
By registering for this camp I affirm that I have the ability to swim 100 yards and thereafter to tread water for 4 minutes.
Camp Information
Date: June 22nd-24th (Sunday-Tuesday)
Grades: Rising juniors and seniors in high school and current college students
Location: Griggs Reservoir Boathouse (Duranceaux Park, 3033 Thoburn Rd, Columbus, OH 43221)
Camp Staff: Campers will be coached by current Ohio State walk-on and varsity coaches

Check-In: Sunday at 1:45pm at Griggs Reservoir Boathouse
Instruction:
Sunday: 2-5pm
Monday: 8am-3pm
Tuesday: 8am-12pm
Enrollment
The fee for the Buckeye Learn to Row Camp is $250 per camper for Rowers and $125 per camper for coxswains. This fee will include three day instruction by coaches on water and on land, some meals, snacks, and a t-shirt. The camp is open to any and all rising junior and senior women in high school and current college athletes. There is a maximum number of campers permitted, so register early! Full payment is required at the time of registration. On the registration page, you will need to select whether you are registering as a rower or coxswain (please see descriptions below). You may register online by visiting OhioStateBuckeyes.com/camps-and-clinics. A 3% processing fee will be added to all online registrations. There will be no walk-ups permitted for this camp, all participants must register in advance.
Rowers: Common characteristics of elite rowers include having an athletic background, being a team-player, and showing grit. Rowers are typically 5’8 or taller or tough enough to make up the difference.
Coxswains: The coxswain plays an essential role as they are responsible for steering the boat, communicating with the coaches and coordinating the power and rhythm of the rowers. Coxswains are typically 5’4 or shorter and weighs around 110 lbs.
Equipment
Please bring a water bottle. No additional equipment is necessary. More camp details including attire will be sent out in advance.
Meals and Housing
Some meals will be provided (lunch Monday + Tuesday) as will snacks and water/gatorade. This is a day camp only and no overnight accommodations will be provided. Campers are responsible for providing their own overnight accommodations if needed.
Required Forms for Participation
The Parent Consent, Waiver & Release Form AND the Concussion Information Form are REQUIRED for all participants. These forms must be completed during online registrations. Campers will not be permitted to participate without these forms.
Confirmation
Once your registration is approved, you will be emailed with a confirmation of payment notice. One week prior to camp, you will also be sent an email with important camp details. This information will also be posted online at OhioStateBuckeyes.com/camps. Please check your email regularly as this is our primary method of communication with campers and their parents.

Refunds
A refund less a $30 administration fee will be issued for any cancellation received by at least one month prior to the start of each camp. The administration fee and the 3% online processing fee are not refundable for ANY reason.
Because we have to guarantee the numbers of campers in order to prepare for camp, any cancellation received less than one month prior to the start of each session will not be eligible for any refund except in the case of injury, illness, or mandatory school event, in which case supporting documentation from a doctor or school is required.
A camp fee may not be transferred to any other Ohio State sports camp. A camp fee may not be transferred to any other camper. All cancellation notices must be received by the deadline above and received by phone or email. All refund requests must be submitted within 10 days after the conclusion of the camp session. Refund requests must be submitted on the Refund Request Form available at Ohiostatebuckeyes.com/camps-and-clinics. This form is found on the homepage all the way at the bottom in red letters “Request a Refund”. Campers who are injured while at camp but remain at camp will not be eligible for any refund.
