CLINIC DESCRIPTION
The Ohio State University Men’s Volleyball Staff will be hosting our first annual Coaching Clinic this February. The Ohio State staff will be joined by coaching staff members from UC Santa Barbara and Penn State throughout the day to discuss topics aimed at guiding high school coaches in the right direction as they look to grow their programs and develop young athletes in the sport. It is also an opportunity to bring our coaching community together and share ideas related to our sport. Topics discussed are specifically designed to prepare programs for the adoption of boys volleyball by OHSAA in the near future.

8:30AM – Doors open
9-10AM – Recruiting and Growing the Talent Pool in Your High School Gym
10-11AM – Two Sessions Available:
– CPR Training (Required by OHSAA)
– Practice Planning & Prioritization
11-12PM – Lunch & Covelli Tour
12-1PM – Q&A with Penn State & UC Santa Barbara
1-2PM – Two Sessions Available:
– Rotations 101
– Serve & Pass Skill Training
2-3PM – Q&A with Ohio State
4:30PM – Penn State vs UC Santa Barbara
7PM – Ohio State vs Long Beach State
KEVIN BURCH
OHIO STATE HEAD COACH
Kevin Burch is the 9th Men’s Volleyball coach for Ohio State. Entering his ?rst season leading the program, Burch has spent four years as an assistant for the Buckeyes and won 3 National Championships in that time. Burch has served in various capacities with three other volleyball programs in his career, all of which won National Championships during his tenure.
HUDSON BATES
OHIO STATE ASSOCIATE HEAD COACH
Hudson Bates is the newest member of the Buckeyes staff , serving as the Associate Head Coach and the program’s recruiting coordinator. Bates has 8 years of collegiate coaching experience as well as a decade-long professional playing career, both in the gym and on the beach. He was an AVP Pro as recently as 2016 and a member USA Men’s National Team from 2008-2010.
LUKE WOOD MALONEY
OHIO STATE ASSISTANT COACH
Luke Maloney is entering his second season with the Buckeyes and his ? rst as an assistant coach. Maloney has a decade of collegiate coaching experience, with stints at Stephen F. Austin University and Oregon State University with the women’s programs before moving to Columbus. Since 2016, Luke has served as the assistant Director of Elite Volleyball. He played collegiately at George Mason University from ’07-’10.
MITCH LUSH
OHIO STATE DIRECTOR OF OPS.
Mitch Lush is in his third year as the Buckeyes’ Director of Operations, as well as serving as the Summer Camp director for the program. Lush served as the team’s manager during his undergraduate studies at Ohio State during their 2016 National Championship season. Lush graduated from Ohio State with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration in 2016.

ENROLLMENT
The Coaching Clinic fee is $50 for the days session. The clinic is open to any and all coaches ages 18 and older. Full payment is required at the time of registration. You may register online by visiting OhioStateBuckeyes.com/Camps. If registering by mail, please make your check payable to The Ohio State University. Any non-scholastic group of 5 or more that wishes to pay with one check for the entire group must do so ahead of time via mail. Any non-scholastic organization with a group of 5 or more registerting the day of the seminar must pay with credit card, cash or money order. No expections will be made.
PARKING
Parking for the coaches clinic will be in Buckeye Lot 1 on the west side of the Covelli Center. One-day parking passes can be purchased at check-in for $8.75, or you may park by the hour using the ParkMobile app on your phone.
CONFIRMATION
Upon processing of each registration, a con?rmation notice will be sent by email. A packet of “Important Information for Registered Campers” (including the Parent Consent & Waiver Form and Concussion Information Form) will be posted online at OhioStateBuckeyes.com/camps at least 2 weeks prior to the start of each camp. This packet will not be separately mailed to campers.
Please check your email regularly, as this is our primary method of communication with campers and their parents.
REFUNDS
The registration fee is not refundable for ANY reason.
