Ohio State Wrestling Mat Wrestling Camp

This camp will focus on the importance of dominating the match on the mat in the top and bottom positions. You will learn to ride, turn and pin with high quality techniques that will work at every level of the sport. There will also be a strong emphasis placed on the importance of achieving reversals and escapes from the bottom position using a variety of techniques taught by current Buckeyes.
ENROLLMENT
The fee for the Mat Wrestling Camp is $425 for overnight campers and $325 for day campers. The camp is open to any and all wrestlers in grades 7 (as of Fall 2019) – 2019 High School Graduates. Full payment is required at the time of online registration. You may register online by visiting OhioStateBuckeyes.com/camps. A 3% processing fee will be added to all online registrations. If registering by mail, please make checks payable to The Ohio State University. Any non-scholastic group of 5 or more that wishes to pay with one check for the entire group must do so ahead of time via mail. Any non-scholastic organization with a group of 5 or more registering the day of the camp must pay with credit card, cash, or money order. No exceptions will be made.
DISCOUNTS
Discounts are not available through online registration. Discounts cannot be combined. If registering as a group, all registrations must be submitted together, along with payment, by mail. Please make checks payable to The Ohio State University.
COACHES DISCOUNT: Groups of 10 or more may receive free room and board for one (1) coach. Groups of 15 or more may recieve free room and board for up to two (2) coaches. Groups of 20 or more may receive free room and board for up to three (3) coaches. Coaches that do not meet the aforementioned criteria or any additional coaches will be required to pay $220 to attend camp. Please see Coach Registration Form for more information.
GROUP DISCOUNT: Groups of 10 or more may receive a discount of $25 off each camper’s registration fee. For the Intensive Camps, groups of 5 or more may receive a discount of $25 off each camper’s registration fee. If registering as a group, all registrations must be submitted together, along with payment, by mail. Group discounts do not apply for the team camp.
MULTI CAMP DISCOUNT: Campers who attend one (1) Ohio State Wrestling Summer Camp during 2019 will be eligible to receive a $50 discount on each additional Ohio State Wrestling 2019 Summer Camp. SIBLING DISCOUNT: When one individual attends a 2019 Wrestling Summer Camp, each additional sibling from the same family may be eligible for a $25 discount for the same camp.
FACULTY/STAFF DISCOUNT: Children of The Ohio State University faculty and staff may be eligible for a 20 percent discount of the total cost of attending one (1) Ohio State Wrestling 2019 Summer Camp. Proof of employment (i.e., copy of Employee ID or BuckID) and payment must be provided at the time of registration by mail.
MILITARY/SERVICE MEMBER DISCOUNT: Children of ALL past and present service men/women (Police Officer, Fire Fighter, EMS, Military) may be eligible for a 5 percent discount of the total cost of attending one (1) Ohio State Wrestling 2019 Summer Camp. Proof of employment (i.e., military ID) must be presented at check-in.
HOME MATCH DISCOUNT: Any individual who attended a 2018-2019 home wrestling match may be eligible to recieve $25 off of a 2019 Wrestling Summer Camp. Contact Ashley Jones (jones.6472@osu.edu) for more information regarding proof of attendance.
REQUIRED FORMS FOR PARTICIPATION
The Parent Consent, Waiver & Release Form AND the Concussion Information Form are REQUIRED for all participants. These forms must be completed during online registrations. Upon reciept of mail-in registrations, we will email a link to complete these forms online. Athletes will not be permitted to participate without these forms.
EQUIPMENT
Campers are responsible for bringing their own equipment. We strongly recommend athletes to bring & wear headgear at all camp sessions. Equipment will not be provided to ANY camper.
TRANSPORTATION
The Ohio State Wrestling Camp will provide a shuttle service to and from the airport for all requests received no later than one (1) week prior to camp. The fee for airport transportation is $30 round-trip. Email Ryan Mantel (mantel.16@osu.edu) after registering for camp in order to receive a shuttle info packet. Port Columbus International Airport (CMH) is only 15 minutes from the Ohio State campus.
EARLY ARRIVALS
Campers whose travel plans require them to arrive the night before the start of camp may stay in the camp dorm for an additional fee. There are a limited number of beds available. The lodging is on a first come, first served basis. Please email Ashley Jones (jones.6472@osu.edu) at least one week prior to the start of camp for more information.
CONFIRMATION
Upon processing of each registration, a confirmation notice will be sent by email. A packet of “Important Information for Registered Campers” (including the Parent Consent & Waiver Form and Concussion Information Form) will be posted online at OhioStateBuckeyes.com/camps at least two (2) weeks prior to the start of each camp. This packet will not be separately mailed to campers. Please check your email regularly as this is our primary method of communication with campers and their parents.
REFUNDS
A refund less a $50 administrative fee will be issued for any cancellation received at least 30 days prior to the start of camp. A refund less a $100 administrative fee will be issued for any cancellation received at least 14 days prior to the start of camp. The administrative fee and 3% online processing fee are not refundable for ANY reason.
Because we have to guarantee our number of campers in order to prepare for camp, any cancellation received less than two (2) weeks prior to the start of each camp session will not be eligible for any refund except in the case of injury, illness, or mandatory school event, in which case supporting documentation from a doctor or school is required.
A camp fee may not be transferred to any other Ohio State sports camp. A camp fee may not be transferred to any other camper. All cancellation notices must be received by the deadline above and submitted by mail, email, or fax – no phone calls or voicemails. All supporting documentation required for a refund to be approved and processed must be submitted within ten (10) days after the conclusion of the camp session. Refund requests must be submitted on the Refund Request Form available at OhioStateBuckeyes.com/camps. Campers who are injured while at camp but remain at camp will not be eligible for any refund.
