COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Buckeyes will play one game this weekend against in-state opponent Ohio University. This will be the second time the Buckeyes meet the Bobcats this season. The first was for a home in-state exhibition in August. The non-conference game will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Pruitt Field.
The Bobcats are 4-3 overall entering this weekend, 1-1 in their conference, with losses recorded to Kent State, No. 2 Duke and Boston University. Ohio U hasn’t been on home turf in almost a month before this weekend of play. Tomorrow, they will take on in-conference rival Longwood before meeting with Ohio State Sunday. The Bobcats are averaging 13.74 shots per game and are led by redshirt senior Kendall Ballard with 12 points, four goals and four assists.
The Buckeyes are led by freshman Mackenzie Allessie who owns 20 points on the season. She is followed by captain duo Nikki Trzaska and Esther Clotet Alsina who each have 15. The Buckeye-Bobcat series stands at 28-10-3 all time with the last four matches going in favor of the Scarlet and Gray.
