COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State seniors Lauren Peter and Aneka Seumanutafa are returning to complete for a fifth-season with the women’s golf program, Lisa Strom, head coach of the Buckeyes, announced.

“Having Lauren and Aneka return for their bonus year shows the pride they have in being a Buckeye,” Strom said. “My relationship with them has grown throughout my first season as their coach. We have developed high levels of trust and I know they are hungry to leave their mark. I’m excited to have one more season with them and ready to make it the best one yet!”

Seumanutafa posted Ohio State’s lowest individual scoring average (73.0) last season over 10 events and 30 rounds. She has played in 33 events over the last four seasons for a total of 96 rounds.

The Emmitsburg, Maryland, native has 15 Top 10 individual finishes and has been among the Top 20 in 20-of-33 career events as a Buckeye.

“The people, the tradition, the excellence is what Ohio State is all about and being a part of that legacy is truly special,” Seumanutafa said. “With that said, I will be returning for my fifth year to play golf for the Ohio state University. I’m honored and blessed to be a part of something great. Let’s get after it. I cannot wait for the season to start!”

Peter, who hails from Carmel, New York, has played in 35 events and 101 rounds overall with a career scoring average of 74.8. She owns a pair of Top 10 individual tournament finishes and seven in the Top 20.

“Starting my career in the Fall of 2018, I had no idea how special it could be to be a Buckeye,” Peter said. “The school spirit can be found everywhere – on-and-off campus. Like when I’m in an airport and hear, ‘O-H!’ In golf, we have an outstanding indoor facility and a beautiful golf course. I also have had the opportunity to meet Jack Nicklaus and Urban Meyer, who were very inspirational to me. My freshman year we won the Big Ten…what an amazing feeling. I want to win Big Tens as a team again and get this team to the NCAA Finals. Go Bucks!”

Strom, who just completed her first season as head coach of the Buckeyes, guided the Buckeyes to Top 10 finishes in 7-of 10 events, winning the Lady Buckeye Invitational April 16 before earning a tie for third at the Big Ten Championships April 24. Ohio State made the 2022 NCAA Championships as an at-large selection, playing in the Ann Arbor Regional.
