COLUMBUS, Ohio –Ohio State (3-6-1) fell to host Penn State (7-1-1) 3-1 Saturday in the quarterfinals of the 2021 Spring Big Ten Tournament at Jeffrey Field in University Park, Pennsylvania.
The Buckeyes were the aggressors early with five quick shots in the first 20 minutes of action. Penn State was first to score however on its first shot of the day in the 22nd minute.
The Nittany Lions scored again in the 29th minute for a 2-0 advantage heading into the halftime break.
A goal in the 55th minute by Penn State made it 3-0 Nittany Lions.
The Buckeyes scored late on a cross from Channing Chasten headed in by junior Devyn Etling in the 88th minute. It was Etling’s 10th career goal and first of the year. The assist was the first of the season and second in two seasons for the sophomore Chasten.

Ohio State finished the opening half with seven shots. The four Penn State shots were on net in the first half. The Buckeyes held the advantage in corner kicks, 5-1. For the game, Ohio State took 13 shots, three on net while the Nittany Lions took 11 shots, six on frame.
