Ohio State Set to Open 2023 Big Ten Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State opens the 2023 Big Ten Championships this weekend at Crisler Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan, with four Buckeyes earning Top four seeds in their respective weight classes.
Three Buckeyes will be making their first conference tournament appearance. Andre Gonzales will be making his debut as a redshirt freshman at 125. He replaces senior Malik Heinselman, who withdrew from the tournament with injury.
True freshman Jesse Mendez (133) and redshirt freshman Paddy Gallagher (157) also will be wrestling in their first league championship.
Six Buckeyes are wrestling in at least their third event.
