
Ohio State Hosts Nebraska Thursday for Pink Game

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 21/21 Ohio State women’s basketball team (17-4, 9-3 Big Ten) is set to face RV/RV Nebraska (17-5, 6-5 Big Ten) for the first time this season on Thursday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast live on FS1 (TV login required) and AM 1460.
The Buckeyes will wear pink jerseys in this season’s pink game as everyone in attendance will honor survivors during the game. Fans will receive pink pom-poms upon entry and have the opportunity to enjoy the Viking Magic halftime show.
Fans can purchase single-game tickets for the 2021-22 season in Value City Arena in the Schottenstein Center. All group tickets must be bought in advance by calling 1-800-GO-BUCKS and then selecting option two. CONCESSIONS UPDATE: Beginning February 3, concessions will resume at all OSU athletic events, with the full menu available for events later in February.
- Ohio State is ranked 21st in both AP Poll released on Monday and the USA Today/WBCA Coaches Poll released on Tuesday.
- Ohio State beat Rutgers by a 61-57 margin to sweep the season’s series on Monday, marking the fewest points OSU has won a game with this season. The Buckeyes came back from an eight-point deficit at halftime by scoring the first 13 points of the second half.
- Taylor Mikesell led all players with 26 points, while Braxtin Miller also scored in double figures with 12. Jacy Sheldon recorded a season-high eight rebounds to go along with five assists to lead the team in both.
- The Buckeyes went 14-of-14 from the free throw line, marking the first time as a team that the Buckeyes’ have been perfect at the stripe with at least 10 makes since Nov. 23, 2013 against Marist.
- Nebraska enters the game with a 17-5 overall record and is 6-5 in Big Ten play. The Huskers most recently fell to No. 17/14 Maryland by an 80-65 margin on the road on Sunday as Nebraska couldn’t overcome losing the first quarter 26-11.
- Alexis Markowski leads a trio of double-figure scorers for the Huskers, averaging 12.3 points per game. Jaz Shelley averages 11.8 ppg and Sam Haiby averages 10.7 ppg. Shelley leads the team with 7.5 rebounds per game, while Markowski averages 7.0.
- Ohio State holds the 11-9 advantage in the all-time series against Nebraska and is 6-4 against the Huskers when playing in Columbus.
- Last season, the teams met only once with Nebraska earning a 63-55 victory on Jan. 16, 2021 in Lincoln despite four Buckeyes scoring in double figures.
