COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State University Rifle Team competed with Air Force (4707) and Navy (4706) to conclude the fall portion of the season, firing a team score of 4682.
In smallbore, the team fired a score of 2320 and was led by Viktor Kiss and Derek Keiser who fired scores of 586 and 584 respectively. Tyler Hanson (576), Nathan Wehrlen (574), and Lillian Warren (573) rounded out team scoring for the Buckeyes. Paige Hollowell led the way for the individuals with a career best score of 587. John Hamilton also fired a career best 580 while Philip Becker (574), Joel Potts (573), Natalie Katsuyama (569), and Eva Horgan (556) rounded out individual scoring.
In air rifle, the team fired a score of 2362 led by a season best score of 596 from Viktor Kiss. Lillian Warren (591), Derek Keiser (589), John Hamilton (586), and Paige Hollowell (585) rounded out team scoring. Nathan Wehrlen and Tyler Hanson both fired a score of 585 to lead the way for the individuals while Joel Potts (583), Philip Becker (580), Eva Horgan (576), and Natalie Katsuyama (574) rounded out individual scoring.
Coach Tanoue: “We again saw some really good performances on Sunday with several new career and season bests which was great to see. With the fall portion of the season now completed we will have some time to regroup and refocus over the winter break so that we can build on what we have achieved thus far this season. In reflecting on the season thus far we have seen some really fantastic performances from a lot of different individuals which have led to the team setting several new program records already this season. We will look to continue to build on that when we return to action in the spring.”
Ohio State will return to competition at TCU on January 15 and 16, 2023.
