Ohio State Finishes Tied for 3rd at B1G Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio-Freshman Faith Choi fired a career best 4-under 67 Sunday after back-to-back rounds of even-par 71 to finish tied for second individually at the 2022 Big Ten Women’s Golf Championships at the Fox Chapel Golf Club in Pittsburgh.

Ohio State finished tied for third overall with rounds or 289-288-287=864 (+12). The final round 287 was the best of the day at the championship.

Choi improved six spots Sunday with six birdies over the final 18 holes. She was named to the 2022 All-Big ten Championship Team as one of the Top 6 scorers in the event.

Michigan won the championship at 5-over 857 (285-281-291). The Wolverines’ Monet Chun is the 2022 Big Ten individual champion at 8-under (70-66-69=205).

The Buckeyes finished second overall in total pars with 170 and were third in total birdies with 39. Ohio State led in par 5 scoring (-8) and were No. 2 on par 4s (+23).

Individually, Choi was second in par 4 scoring (-1) while Lauren Peter was second on par 5s (-4).

Choi had 37 pars and 11 birdies over the 54-hole tournament.

Ohio State will find out about extending the season during the NCAA Selection Show this week.

The 2022 DI women’s golf selection show will air live at 4 p.m. Wednesday. The show will be televised live on Golf Channel. Shortly after, the selections for the 2022 NCAA Regionals will be published here.
