COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The No. 21 Ohio State women’s gymnastics team (7-6, 6-5 Big Ten) finished fourth with a team score of 195.275 at the Big Five Meet on Friday to close its Big Ten regular season.
No. 8 Minnesota won the meet with a 197.375, followed by No. 19 Illinois (196.500), Maryland (195.725), Ohio State and Nebraska (195.200).
The Buckeyes opened the competition on beam with a 48.650. Alexis Hankins scored a 9.850 to pace the team while Colby Miller matched her season high on a 9.825.
Ohio State had a bye for the second rotation and picked things up on floor in the third rotation, where it had a 48.975. Elexis Edwards and Claire Gagliardi both earned a 9.850, which tied Edwards’ career mark. Brooke Chesney scored a 9.825 for the third time this season.
The team registered a 49.025 on vault in the fourth rotation. Jenna Swartzentruber posted a career-high 9.850 on the apparatus. Morgan Lowe and Edwards had a pair of 9.825s while Miller scored a 9.775 to tie her career best for a third time.
Ohio State concluded the meet by scoring a 48.625 on bars. Miller had another season high after receiving a 9.875. Emma Pritchard set a new personal best with a 9.850.
The Buckeyes return to Columbus to host Penn State on Sunday, March 7 at 2 p.m. in a non-conference meet.
