Ohio State Drops 1-0 Decision to MSU

COLUMBUS, Ohio –Ohio State (3-5-1 B1G) fell to Michigan State (4-6-0) 1-0 Sunday at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium in the regular-season finale.

The Buckeyes celebrated the careers of nine seniors during pregame ceremonies. Joe Ortiz, Joshua Jackson-Ketchup, Noah Lawrence, Mitch Bergman, Matteo Bennati, Samuel Buzzas, Xavier Kennedy, David Abonce and Matt Kiley were all honored along with their families and friends for their dedication to the Ohio State program.

The game against the Spartans was played under sunny skies and temperatures in the low 70s.

Neither team was able to mount much of an offensive attack over the first 70 minutes before the Spartans scored in the 73rd minute.

The Spartans took nine shots, five on net. The Buckeyes took four shots but did not get one through to the frame.

Lawrence was credited with four saves.

The Buckeyes will play Penn State Saturday in State College, Pennsylvania, in the 2021 Big Ten Tournament.
