COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State is among the field of eight teams that will participated in the 2022 Maui Jim Maui Invitational Nov. 21-23, 2022. The event is played at the Lahaina Civic Center on the Island of Maui, Hawaii.
The field includes Arkansas, Arizona, Cincinnati, Creighton, Louisville, San Diego State, Texas Tech and the Buckeyes, who will be making their fourth appearance in the event (1988, 1993 and 2003).
In the 1988 event, No. 16 Ohio State fell to No. 5 Oklahoma 97-65 in the opener before wins over DePaul (72-70) and Vanderbilt (97-82).
The Buckeyes opened the invitational with a 98-77 win over Tennessee Tech in 1993 before a 100-88 loss to No. 5 Kentucky. Ohio State then defeated No. 18 Boston College 69-67.
The last time Ohio State made the trip, the Buckeyes fell in the opener to San Diego State 83-61 before wins over Central Michigan (77-71) and Villanova (67-66).
During the 2021 season, the Buckeyes will join Florida, Cal and Seton Hall at the 2021 Rocket Mortgage by Quicken Loans Fort Myers Tip-Off.
