What They Said
Senior outside hitter Mia Grunze
“Home games are always fun. Ohio State fans are the best so it’s always fun to play at home. It was important that we flipped the switch after this weekend. We knew that Indiana was going to come in and challenge us so I think we did exactly that.”
Grunze on what the team can learn from the beginning of Big Ten play
“I think it was a reminder to keep working hard every day. No matter what anyone says, you have to make everyday count. Go into the gym with the mindset to get better. It’s going to be hard but we want to do what we want to do.”
Grunze on coming out onto the court ready
“We were ready to come out and play hard. The middles were drawing the block a lot tonight and I was getting some good balls so a lot of it was one-on-one which gives me a lot to work with. Props to [the middles].”
Junior libero Kylie Murr
“I was really excited to see how we would respond [to last weekend] and I think we did a really good job. We did the things we worked on in practice and transferred them to the court so I’m really proud of my team.”
Murr on the Big Ten
“The Big Ten is big and the Big Ten is really good. We learned that we have to be the aggressors and we have to be the aggressors from the service line, at the net – we can’t go soft like we maybe did in non-conference. We learned that we have to stay aggressive no matter who we’re playing.”
Murr on being named one of the NCAA’s top 10 liberos
“My team motivates me. That’s always fun to look at. It’s always cool that people think that of me but it just means I’m doing my job. That’s what I’m here to do and I’m here to do that for my team. Yeah it’s cool to see that but it just means I’m doing my job.”
