COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s volleyball team (18-4, 8-4 Big Ten) is slated for two top-11 matchups inside the Covelli Center this week, hosting No. 11 Minnesota on Thursday and No. 9 Nebraska on Saturday. Both matches are scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Thursday’s match will be broadcast live on BTN (TV login required) while Saturday’s match will air on B1G+ (subscription required).

Thursday’s match is redcoat/usher appreciation night and Saturday’s match is military appreciation night.

Last weekend, Ohio State won both of its matches. On Friday, the Buckeyes swept (RV) Michigan (33-31, 25-18, 25-17) in Ann Arbor. OSU returned to Columbus to defeat Michigan State in four sets (26-24, 15-25, 25-16, 25-22) inside Covelli.

  • OSU was ranked seventh in Monday’s AVCA poll, tying a program record of 10-consecutive weeks in the top 10.
  • Junior setter Mac Podraza was named Big Ten Co-Setter of the Week on Monday.
  • Junior outside hitter Gabby Gonzales tallied a career-high 22 kills against the Spartans to lead all players and reach double-figure kills for the seventh-straight match.
  • Podraza recorded her seventh double-double of the season against Michigan State, totaling 42 assists and 15 digs.
  • Senior defensive specialist Hannah Gruensfelder moved into third in program history in career digs against Michigan. She now has 1,409 digs in a Buckeye uniform.
  • No. 11 Minnesota enters the match with a 14-6 overall and a 9-3 Big Ten record after beating No. 6 Nebraska in five sets (25-22, 28-30, 25-21, 23-25, 15-9) on Saturday in Minneapolis.
  • Ohio State trails in the all-time series 34-49 against Minnesota after dropping a four-set (25-22, 21-25, 21-25, 21-25) decision to the Gophers on the road in October.
  • The Buckeyes hold a 20-18 record when playing the Gophers in Columbus.
  • No. 9 Nebraska enters the week with a 16-5 overall record and shares the lead in the Big Ten with a 10-2 conference record. The Huskers are slated to travel to No. 25 Illinois on Thursday night.
  • Ohio State trails Nebraska 8-16 in the all-time series and is 1-8 against the Huskers when playing in Columbus. The teams split a pair of five-setters in Nebraska during the spring season.
