COLUMBUS, Ohio – Four Ohio State seniors will be recognized during pregame ceremonies prior to the No. 13 Buckeyes (8-1-5, 3-1-2) facing Michigan State (6-6-2, 3-2-1) Tuesday at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
Keeper Keagan McLaughlin, midfielders Chris Dowling and Xavier Green along with forward Devyn Etling have played nearly 175 games at Ohio State during their careers.
The Buckeyes enter the final home game of the regular season undefeated at home with a 6-0-2 record.
Admission and parking are free for all Ohio State men’s soccer contests.

- It’s Senior Night in Columbus. Keeper Keagan McLaughlin, midfielders Chris Dowling and Xavier Green along with forward Devyn Etling will be recognized during pregame ceremonies.
- Dowling has played in 24 matches for the Buckeyes with two goals and three assists. Etling owns 58 career appearances with 14 goals and two assists. Green is a veteran of 73 Ohio State matches with nine scores and six assists. McLaughlin is in his second year at Ohio State with 19 appearances and six shutouts.
- A pair of Ohio State freshmen were selected to the 2022 Midseason TopDrawerSoccer Top 100 list. Luciano Pechota is ranked No. 17 nationally while Marko Borkovic is ranked 58th. Pechota has two goals, both game winners, to go with three assists. Borkovic has three goals, two game winners, and one assist.
- Junior Laurence Wootton also found his way on to a TopDrawerSoccer Top 100 list, the Top 100 players nationally at midseason. He is rated No. 9 overall with a team-leading four goals. He also leads in points with 10.
- The 2022 Buckeyes own the Ohio State record for fewest loses over the first 14 games of the season after the draw (1-1) at Penn State. The 2022 Buckeyes also own the top win percentage after 14 games in program history.

2009 (8-3-3/.679) - The Buckeyes are currently 6-0-2 at home with one game to play in Columbus (vs. MSU, Oct. 25). Ohio State was 8-0-1 in 2010 and 4-0-1 in 1974 and 4-0-0 in both 1965 and 1967 to mark the only other undefeated home seasons in Ohio State history.
- Keeper Keagan McLaughlin made the CollegeSoccerNews Team of the Week (Oct. 16) after leading the Buckeyes to a pair of wins at Michigan (3-1) and at home vs Northwestern (2-1). He had 11 saves in the two wins. It’s the second time this season McLaughlin has been selected for the team of the week by CollegeSoccerNews.
- The Buckeyes went undefeated in nonconference play for the first time after the win over Northern Kentucky gave Ohio State a 5-0-3 record outside the Big Ten this year. Ohio State has not lost a game outside the Big Ten in its last 11 games (8-0-3) dating to the 2021 season.
- With the result at Cleveland State, Ohio State went undefeated against intrastate foes in 2022. The Buckeyes won at Bowling Green (1-0), defeated Wright State in Columbus (2-0) and tied No. 14 Akron (3-3) and the Vikings (0-0) on the road. The last time the Buckeyes played four Ohio in a season without a defeat was in 2015 at Akron (T, 3-3, 2ot), vs. Dayton (W, 2-0), vs. Bowling Green (W, 2-1), vs. Cleveland State (W, 1-0) and vs. Dayton (T, 1-1, 2ot, pks 4-3) in the NCAA Tournament in Columbus.
- Ohio State played three-consecutive Top 15 opponents prior to facing the Vikings. Ohio State defeated No. 12 Butler Sept. 9 (2-0) then battled to a 3-all draw at No. 14 Akron Sept. 13 before knocking off No. 15 Indiana in Columbus (2-1).
- Ohio State has allowed the fewest goals among Big Ten teams (13/0.93 gpg) and in scoring margin (0.86 gpg). The Buckeyes also are at the top in save percentage (.759) and lead in corners (99).
The Buckeyes have taken more corners than the opponent in 13-of-14 games this season and are ranked No. 10 nationally in corners per game (99/7.00). - Senior Xavier Green was named the Co-Offensive Player of the Week by the Big Ten after scoring goals at No. 14 Akron (T, 3-3) and vs. No. 15 Indiana (W, 2-1). His efforts also earned him a spot on the TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week (Sept. 18).
- Senior Keagan McLaughlin posted four-consecutive shutouts and held opponents to just one goal over his first five games of the season. The Notre Dame transfer, has 14-career shutouts and four as a Buckeye.
- McLaughlin’s efforts in a 1-0 win at Bowling Green and a 2-0 home win over Wright State earned him the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week (9/6/22). He added another league honor last Sept. 13 when he was named the Co-Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week after a 2-0 shutout of No. 12 Butler. McLaughlin’s efforts also earned him a spot on the CollegeSoccerNews Team of the Week (Sept. 11) as the keeper.
- Freshman Marko Borkovic also was recognized Sept. 13 by the league office when he was named the Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week after putting Ohio State on the board first with a goal in the second half vs. Butler, his third of the season.
- Ohio State had last recorded four-consecutive shutouts in 2017 when it posted six-consecutive blankings from 9/1/17 to 9/22/17). Ohio State shutout seven of its first eight foes that year.
- Borkovic, Wootton and freshman Luciano Pechota are tied for second in the Big Ten in game-winning goals with two each.
- McLaughlin leads the league in goals against average (8/.800), save percentage (.826) and shutouts (4).
Laurence Wootton, Nathan Demian and Luciano Pechota were named to the 2022 Wolstein Classic All-Tournament Team. Wootton had a goal and an assist, Pechota recorded a pair of assists and Demian led a defense that allowed just one goal over the two games. - The Big Ten named Wootton its Offensive Player of the Week Aug. 30 for his efforts in the Wolstein Classic.
- Wootton, Deylen Vellios and Owen Sullivan are the designated captains for the 2022 season.
- In games played at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium since it opened in 1999, Ohio State is 130-67-34.
- Former Ohio State head coach John Bluem was inducted into the Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame with the class of 2022 during ceremonies Sept. 9 at the Covelli Center on the Ohio State campus. Bluem posted 206 wins over 21 seasons (1997-2017) with 10 trips to the NCAA Tournament, including a run to the College Cup Final in 2007.
