Ohio State Heads West for Next CSL Match

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Select athletes from the No. 11 Ohio State women's swimming team and No. 13 men's swimming team head west on Friday, Oct. 2 to compete in their final regular-season match of the inaugural College Swimming League (CSL) season.

- Ohio State will compete against Stanford, Cal and Auburn in match three of the CSL.
- The meet will be held at the Avery Aquatic Center in Stanford, Calif.
- Doors open at 7 p.m. ET, and competition begins at 8:30 p.m. ET. The event is ticketed.
- The meet will be streamed live on ESPN+ and DAZN.
- Matches are conducted in a single-session format, featuring standard short course yards events in addition to two new formats, Skin and Super Skins. CSL results count toward NCAA qualifying standards.
- Ohio State will compete in lanes seven and eight and wear black caps on Friday.

- In the first-ever CSL match, the Buckeyes placed fourth in the combined team standings with 250.5 points, behind Indiana (575.5), Louisville (451.5) and Michigan (420.5).
- Cornelius Jahn placed fourth in the 200 back with a time of 1:42.06 to open CSL action.
- In the 200 breast, Sam Vaisburg placed seventh with a time of 2:03.86. In his Buckeye debut, Jack Wroblewski turned in a time of 2:06.01 for eighth place.
- Jordi Vilchez placed sixth in the 500 free, with a time of 4:22.99.
- The Buckeye relay team of Matt Klinge, Chris Weeks, Mike Robinson and Ahmed Ismail placed second in the 4x50 free relay with a time of 1:17.42.
- In the 200 free, Vilchez touched at 1:47.78 for sixth, and Mattaus Rammel at 1:48.10 for seventh in his Buckeye debut.
- TJ Frost finished in sixth in the 100 IM with a time of 50.43.
- Joseph Roth turned in a time of 47.39 for a third-place finish. Jahn finished in fifth with a time of 47.43.
- In the 100 free, Robinson swam a time of 43.91 for fifth place.
- Klinge advanced to the final round of the 50 free skins, with a time of 19.61 in the first round, 20.44 in the second and 20.55 in the third round before placing second in the final with a time of 21.83. Weeks advanced to the second round with a time of 19.90.
- Frost touched the wall at 1:48.04 for fifth place in the 200 IM.
- Ismail was the third-place finisher in the 100 breast with a time of 53.28.
- In the 50 free, Robinson (20.07) and Weeks (20.20) finished fourth and fifth respectively.
- Klinge placed fifth in the 100 fly with a time of 47.16.
- Jahn turned in a time of 1:36.52 in the 200 free for fifth place.
- The Buckeye relay team of Roth, Ismail, Weeks and Klinge placed third in the opening round of the 4x50 medley relay super skins with a time of 1:26.76 before placing fourth in the second round (1:27.93) and fourth in the third round (1:29.93).
- In the first-ever CSL match, the Buckeye women turned in multiple NCAA standard times and the Buckeye team placed fourth with 250.5, behind Indiana (575.5), Louisville (451.5) and Michigan (420.5).
- In the 200 back, KK LeBlanc opened the meet placing fourth with an NCAA standard time of 1:54.92.
- Paige Delma finished in 2:15.26 in the 200 breast to place sixth.
- In the 500 free, Sienna Angove swam a time of 4:45.33 for fifth place.
- To place fourth in the 4x50 free relay, the Buckeye relay team of Rachel Bockrath, Erin Little, Carrie Furbee and Morgan Lukinac swam a time of 1:29.17.
- Adair Shaw turned in a time of 2:01.67 to finish in sixth place in the 200 fly.
- In the 100 IM, Maria Ramos touched the wall at 55.93 for seventh place.
- LeBlanc placed fifth in the 100 back with a time of 52.94.
- Bockrath was the second-place finisher in the 100 free with an NCAA standard time of 48.07.
- Furbee (24.12) and Lorin Tobler (24.68) competed in the first round of the women's 50 fly skins.
- In the 200 IM, Delma finished in sixth with a time of 2:01.23.
- To place second in the 100 breast, Ramos turned in an NCAA standard time of 1:00.01.
- Bockrath turned in an NCAA standard time of 22.19 for fifth place in the 50 free. Lukinac finished in 22.88 for eighth.
- In the 100 fly, Furbee turned in a time of 53.83 for seventh, and in her Buckeye debut Anna Shnowske turned in a time of 55.06 for eighth.
- Little placed fifth with a time of 1:46.94 in the 200 free.
- The Buckeye relay team of LeBlanc, Ramos, Furbee and Bockrath placed fourth in the opening round of the 4x50 medley relay super skins with a time of 1:37.75. The team placed third in the second round (1:38.80) and third in the third round (1:39.76).
- The Buckeyes will find out their CSL postseason fate once all regular-season CSL matches wrap up.
- The Buckeyes return home for their annual Scarlet v. Gray meet on Friday, Oct. 9 and alumni meet on Saturday, Oct. 10 at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion. Ohio State begins NCAA competition at the Zips Classic hosted by Akron Oct. 16-17.
