COLUMBUS, Ohio – Week three of the 2026 NFL season featured standout performances from Pro Bucks on both sides of the ball, highlighted by Jaxon Smith-Njigba continuing his historic start to the season, Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave surpassing 100 receiving yards, rookie linebackers Sonny Styles and Arvell Reese making an impact on defense and Chase Young getting to the quarterback.
The Buckeye wideouts have separated themselves from the pack, combining for the most receiving yards of any school in the NFL.
Smith-Njigba Continues Historic Start
Wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba continued his historic start to the season, finishing with 128 yards on 10 receptions and two touchdowns in the Seattle Seahawks' 33-31 loss to the Washington Commanders.
Smith-Njigba hauled in a one-yard touchdown in the second quarter before adding an 11-yard score in the fourth. He also completed a 14-yard pass on a trick play.
Through three games, Smith-Njigba has recorded 27 receptions for 405 yards and six touchdowns. He has surpassed 100 receiving yards and scored at least one touchdown in each game this season.

Wilson and Olave Eclipse 100 yards Receiving
Wide receivers Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave each surpassed 100 receiving yards in week three, continuing strong starts to the season for the Buckeye wideouts.
Wilson hauled in 10 receptions for 107 yards and a touchdown in the New York Jets' 31-24 loss to Detroit. His 23-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter helped New York tie the game at 24-24 following a successful two-point conversion.
Olave finished with 107 yards on nine receptions in the New Orleans Saints' 35-27 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. Through the first three games of the season, Olave has recorded 27 receptions for 375 yards.

Sonny and Arvell Lead the Way on Defense
Rookie linebackers Sonny Styles and Arvell Reese recorded strong performances for their respective defenses in week three, with both linebackers tallying career highs in tackles.
Styles recorded five tackles, two pass deflections, an interception and a forced fumble in Washington's 33-31 victory over Settle. The interception and forced fumble were both the first of his NFL career.
Reese led the New York Giants with 13 tackles, including 10 solo stops and a pass defended in a 12-7 victory over the Tennessee Titans.
Other Buckeyes Around the League
Wide receiver Terry McLaurin caught six passes for 77 yards and a touchdown in Washington's 33-31 win over Seattle, while Emeka Egbuka notched 62 yards on five receptions for Tampa Bay. Tight end Jeremy Ruckert also caught a touchdown for the New York Jets.
On the defensive side, safety Ronnie Hickman recorded eight tackles and interception with 17 seconds left in the game to seal Cleveland's 21-18 victory. Defensive end Chase Young finished with two sacks for the New Orleans Saints.
