
Buckeyes Open Season at Inaugural College Swimming League Match

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 11 Ohio State women's swimming team and No. 13 men's swimming team open the 2026-27 season Thursday, Sept. 24, at the inaugural College Swimming League (CSL) match against Indiana, Louisville and Michigan in Westmont, Ill. Select Buckeyes will travel and compete.

- Ohio State will compete against Indiana, Louisville and Michigan in match one of the College Swimming League.
- The meet will be held at the FMC Natatorium in Westmont, Ill.
- Doors open at 4 p.m. CT, with competition beginning at 5:30 p.m. CT. The event is ticketed.
- This meet will be streamed live on ESPN+ and DAZN. All CSL events are to be broadcast live.
- The CSL is in its first season and features 12 NCAA programs competing in two regular-season matches, with the top two highest ranked regular-season and wildcard teams competing at the CSL Championship.
- Matches are conducted in a single session format, featuring standard short course yards events in addition to two new formats, Skins and Super Skins. CSL results count towards NCAA qualifying standards.
- Ohio State will compete in lanes five and six and wear black caps on Thursday.

- Ohio State returns 20 from last year's roster and welcomes six newcomers
- Ohio State placed third at the 2026 Big Ten Championships, marking its 17th consecutive top three finish.
- The Buckeyes collected nine medals at the Big Ten Championships, including the conference titles in the 800 free relay and silver medals from Klinge (50 free, 100 fly) and Cornelius Jahn (200 back).
- Eleven Buckeyes competed at the 2026 NCAA Championships, where the team placed 13th for its sixth top 15 finish in the last seven seasons.
- In the 200 back, Jahn broke his own program record, placing 13th with a time of 1:38.84.
- The 800 free relay team won bronze at the NCAA Championships with a program-record time of 6:06.40, ranking as the ninth fastest time in NCAA history.
- At the German Swimming Championships, Jahn became the champion in the 100 and 200 back, in which he broke his own long course meters (LCM) program record. He also won bronze with Team Germany in the 4x200 free relay at the European Championships.
- The Buckeyes set an LCM program record in the 200 free relay (1:29.55) at the USA Swimming Summer Sectionals.
- Turning in a time of 1:00.34 in the 100 breast, Ahmed Ismail broke an 11-year-old LCM Ohio State record and set an Egyptian national record at the Toyota National Championships.
- Two returning Buckeyes earned All-American honors; Jahn (800 free relay, 200 back) and Jordi Vilchez (800 free relay).
- Rachel Bockrath and Hannah Newbrook were named to the Big Ten's swimmers and divers to watch list.
- Ohio State returns 23 from last year's team and welcomes six newcomers.
- Ohio State placed third at the Big Ten Championships, earning a top three finish for the ninth straight season.
- The Buckeyes collected 10 medals at the Big Ten Championships. Returners Sienna Angove (500 free), Bockrath (100 free), Mila Nikanorov (1650 free) and Maria Ramos (100 breast) all earned silver. Additionally, Bockrath (200 free), Emma Finlin (1650 free) and the 400 free relay, 800 free relay and 200 medley relay teams earned bronze.
- Sixteen Buckeyes competed at the NCAA Championships, where Ohio State placed 12th for its sixth consecutive top 15 finish.
- Mia Prusiecki placed seventh in the platform dive with a score of 286.95, earning her first career All-American honor.
- Erin Little helped England to silver in the 400 free and 400 mixed free relays at the Commonwealth Games.
- Ramos won the 50 breast at the Spanish National Championships. Ramos set a Spanish national record in the 50 breast at Toyota National Championships, later breaking it again and setting an Ohio State LCM record with a time of 30.47 at the European Championships with Team Spain.
- At the Bell Canadian Swimming Trials, Finlin was the 1500 free champion in 16:31.53, 13 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.
- Nikanorov broke three Ohio State LCM program records this summer in the 400 free (4:07.27), 800 free (8:26.24) and 1,500 free (16:13.80).
- The Buckeyes also set LCM program records in the 400 free, 800 free, and 400 medley relays at the USA Swimming Summer Sectionals.
- Ten returners earned All-American honors; Angove (800 free relay, 400 free relay), Bockrath (200 medley relay, 800 free relay, 400 free relay), Finlin (1650 free), Carrie Furbee (200 medley relay), KK LeBlanc (200 medley relay, 400 free relay), Little (800 free relay, 400 free relay), Lloyd (800 free relay), Nikanorov (1650 free), Prusiecki (Platform) and Ramos (100 breast, 200 medley relay).
- Select Ohio State athletes will travel to Palo Alto, Calif., for the Buckeyes' final regular season CSL match against Stanford, Auburn and Cal on Friday, Oct. 2.
