Buckeye Alum JJ Tracy Claims Third ATP Challenger Doubles Title

JJ Tracy secured his third ATP Challenger title in doubles while competing at the Tiburon Challenger.
TIBURON, Calif. – Former NCAA Doubles Champion, JJ Tracy claimed his second ATP Challenger doubles title of the year and third of his pro career at the Tiburon Challenger.
Tracy teamed up with Hans Hach Verdugo for the tournament, where they faced four doubles teams to get the trophy. The pair faced the American duo of Nathaniel Lammons and Jackson Withrow in the final. The two were evenly matched in the beginning, resulting in a 7-6(7) win for the first set. The second quicker went in favor of Tracy and Hach Verdugo with an early break, and resulted in 6-4 second set for the victory.
Tracy now has a career record of 43-42 in doubles pro tournaments, and three doubles titles. Prior to this tournament, Tracy competed in the US Open with Francisco Cabral, where he reached the Round of 16 before falling to the No. 1 doubles pairing in the tournament. On his way to the Round of 16, Tracy faced the duo of Lammons and Withrow in the Round of 32, where he and Cabral bested them in three sets.
