The Buckeyes and Longhorns will meet on the gridiron for the third-straight season on Sept. 12.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Kickoff for Ohio State's road opener at Texas on Saturday, September 12 in Austin is set for 7:30 p.m. on ABC, ESPN announced Tuesday. The is the second gametime that has been announced this week as the Big Ten and FOX announced a noon kickoff on FOX for 'The Game' on Monday.
Last season against top-ranked Texas in Week 1, the Buckeyes won by holding the Longhorns to just seven points, their fewest in a game since Nov. 6, 2021. CB Davison Igbinosun led Ohio State with 10 tackles, while quarterback Julian Sayin threw for 126 yards and a touchdown in his first collegiate start. Wideout Carnell Tate caught two passes for 49 yards and a touchdown, Jeremiah Smith added six receptions for 43 yards, and RB CJ Donaldson Jr. led the ground game with 67 yards on 19 carries.
