Buckeyes No. 1 Seed in 2026 NCAA Tournament, Host Regional Round

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's hockey team has earned the No. 1 overall seed in the 2026 National Collegiate women's ice hockey tournament and will host Minnesota Duluth and Yale in the Columbus Regional March 12-14 at the OSU Ice Rink.
The Buckeyes (34-4-0, 24-4-0 WCHA) will play in the regional final Saturday, March 14 at 6 p.m. and will face off against the winner of the regional semifinal between the Bulldogs from Yale and Minnesota Duluth. The regional semifinal will be played Thursday, March 12 at 6 p.m.
Tickets for the Columbus Regional games go on sale Monday, March 9 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased HERE.
This year marks Ohio State's eighth tournament appearance and seventh consecutive appearance. It's also the first time since 2024 the Buckeyes are the top seed in the tournament.
The WCHA has four teams in the 2026 NC tournament. In addition to Ohio State and Minnesota Duluth, Wisconsin is the No. 2 seed and Minnesota is seeded fourth.
The winner of the Columbus Regional advances to the 2026 NCAA Women's Frozen Four. This year, the Frozen Four will be played at Pegula Ice Arena in University Park, Penn. March 20-22.
