COLUMBUS, Ohio – The NCAA selected the No. 11/11 Ohio State women's basketball team (26-7, 13-5 B1G) as a No. 3 seed for the upcoming NCAA Tournament as the full bracket of teams was announced on Sunday night. The tournament will feature 68 total teams.
The Buckeyes will face No. 14 seed Howard (26-7, 13-1 MEAC) in the first round on Saturday with the time and TV network to be determined. No. 6 seed Notre Dame (22-10, 12-6 ACC) and No. 11 seed Fairfield (28-4, 19-1 MAAC) will face each other in the other first round game.

- This is the Buckeyes' 16th time hosting at least one game of the NCAA Tournament and the fourth-consecutive year. This is the 17th time Ohio State has been selected as a top-four seed.
- This is Ohio State's 30th NCAA Tournament appearance as the Buckeyes hold a 33-29 record in the NCAA Tournament. This record reflects wins from select seasons later vacated by the NCAA.
- Last season, Ohio State earned a No. 4 seed, hosting for the third season in a row. The Buckeyes beat No. 13 seed Montana State by a 71-51 margin in the first round before falling to No. 5 seed Tennessee by an 82-67 margin in the second round.
- In the Big Ten Tournament, the Buckeyes beat No. 13 seed Indiana by an 83-59 margin in the second round and then earned their sixth ranked win of the season in the quarterfinals against No. 19/20 ranked and No. 4 seeded Minnesota (60-55). Ohio State made its fourth semifinals appearance in the last five seasons, falling to eventual champion and No. 1 seed UCLA by a 72-62 margin.
- Ohio State holds a 26-7 overall record this season and finished in a tie for fourth in the Big Ten with a 13-5 conference record.
