No. 1 Buckeyes Earn 10th-Consecutive Win Over Michigan

Ohio State hosts Michigan State Sunday at Noon
COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 1 Ohio State topped No. 43 Michigan 4-0 for its 10th-consecutive win over the Wolverines Friday at Ty Tucker Tennis Center.
The victory marks a perfect 10-0 home record for the Buckeyes and their eighth sweep of the season at Ty Tucker Tennis Center.
Ohio State took the doubles point with victories on courts two and three. In singles, the bottom half dominated with two-set victories on courts four, five and six.
Ohio State improves to 14-2 on the season, Bryce Nakashima and Alexander Bernard led the Buckeyes with a victory in both singles and doubles action.
Next up for the Buckeyes is a three-game road trip against No. 11 Texas A&M (March 18 at 7 p.m.), Indiana (March 20 at 6 p.m.) and Purdue (March 22 at noon).
Doubles

On court two, Alexander Bernard and Alex Okonkwo got out to a 4-0 start, defeating the No. 42 ranked Nicholas Steiglehner and Bjorn Swenson 6-3 for the Buckeyes first doubles win of the day.

A minute later, Aidan Kim and Bryce Nakashima clinched the doubles point for Ohio State in a 6-3 match on court three.

Brandon Carpico and Nikita Filin traded blows with the Wolverines pair on court one. Both teams didn't drop a serve as Carpico and Filin were up 6-5 when the Buckeyes clinched the doubles point.
Singles

Courts two, three and six were tied at 5-all in the first set before Preston Stearns and Alexander Bernard collected 7-5 wins while Jack Anthrop earned a 7-6(4) first set victory.

Nikita Filin struck first for Ohio State in dominant fashion, winning 6-1 in the first set and sweeping 6-0 in the second set.

On court four, Bryce Nakashima was down 3-1 in the first set before clawing his way back to a 4-3 lead and a 6-4 set one win. Nakashima went on to sweep the second set 6-0, putting the Buckeyes ahead 3-0.

Alexander Bernard took a close 7-5 set one win on court five and proceeded to lose the first three games in the second set. Down 3-0, Bernard won six-consecutive games, clinching the victory for the Buckeyes.

In a Top 10 matchup on court one, No. 6 Aidan Kim dropped the first set 6-4 against No. 10 Max Dahlin before finding himself down 5-3 in the second set. Kim climbed his way back, winning four-consecutive games and tying it with a 7-5 set two win. He was up 2-0 when the match was clinched.

Jack Anthrop and Preston Stearns were both up 4-3 in the second set on courts two and three when the Buckeyes clinched the match.
