COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State women's hockey senior goaltender Hailey MacLeod earned the Western Collegiate Hockey Association's Goaltender of the Month award after an unbeaten month of ranked games in net for the Buckeyes.
MacLeod played in six of the team's 10 games in January, including five against ranked opponents. She finished the month 6-0-0 to help the Buckeyes go unbeaten in the first month of 2026.
She earned the start in both games of the series against No. 4 Penn State. She made a combined 43 saved in the series and allowed just 1.00 goal per game to the Nittany Lions to help the team to the non-conference series sweep.
Playing in both games of the series against No. 9 Minnesota Duluth, MacLeod recorded back-to-back 32 save games against the Bulldogs tying her season high for saves in a game. She improved to 14-2-0 on the year with the pair of wins and picked up her 11th win against a ranked opponent.
She added shutouts in the wins over St. Cloud State (Jan. 9) and St. Thomas (Jan. 24).
The award is her first monthly award of the season.
The Buckeyes continue their WCHA schedule this weekend at No. 1 Wisconsin. The top-ranked matchup is set for 4 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at Labahn Arena. Game one will be televised on Big Ten Network and game two will be streamed on B1G+.
