Hillebrandt Earns B1G First Star of the Week Honors

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Sam Hillebrandt of the Ohio State men's hockey team was named Big Ten First Star of the Week after backstopping the Buckeyes to a road sweep of Minnesota. It is the second league weekly award for the goalie after earning third star honors Jan. 13.

Against the Gophers, the freshman from Port Huron, Mich., allowed just three goals in the series (one even strength), with a 1.50 goals-against average and .940 save percentage, stopping 47-of-50 shots. He had 21 third-period saves combined, preserving leads in both games. Hillebrandt had 19 saves in a 6-2 game one win and 28 stops in a 2-1 game two victory.

The Schedule Ahead

The Buckeyes will host No. 13/12 Wisconsin at 6:30 p.m. Friday and at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Ohio State will then be on the road for back-to-back series at No. 6/7 Penn State Feb. 20-21 and at No. 1 Michigan State Feb. 27-28.
The regular season ends March 5-6 at home against Notre Dame, with both games at 6:30 p.m. Game one is Dollar Dog Night and features Script Ohio on Ice, while game two is Senior Night.
