Buckeyes Host No. 20 Washington, No. 21 Minnesota this Weekend

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's volleyball team (9-5, 2-2 Big Ten) returns to the Covelli Center this weekend to host No. 20 Washington (12-1, 3-1 Big Ten) and No. 21 Minnesota (7-5, 1-3 Big Ten).

- The Buckeyes host Washington on Friday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. for Women & Girls in Sports Night. The match will air on B1G+.
- The matchup between Ohio State and the Golden Gophers will air on Big Ten Network. The match begins at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 11 and it will be the Breast Cancer Awareness Pink Match. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the match.

- The Buckeyes got back in the win column with a 3-1 victory (25-19, 21-25, 25-21, 25-23) victory at Northwestern last Saturday.
- Naomy Govou led the Buckeyes with 22 kills and a career-high 27 points. She led the team with five aces, which was just one short of her career-high.
- Hannah Jones tied her season-high with 16 kills. She led the team with six total blocks to tie her career-high.
- Kalli Jioshvili-Ravva was just short of a double-double with 13 kills and nine digs.
- Emily Avshalomov had a team-high 17 digs and Mia Stahler added 13 digs.
- Bailey Nakanelua led the Buckeyes in assists with 40.
Buckeye Leaders
- Govou leads the Buckeyes in kills with 181 and she is averaging a team-high 3.77 kills per set. She had had double-digit kills in nine matches and has had five matches with 20 or more kills.
- Jones is second on the team in kills with 174 and she averages 3.11 per set. She has been in double-digit kills in 13 out of 14 matches played.
- Alia Schoonover has a team-high 18 aces on the season. Govou is second in aces with 17.
- Nakanelua leads the Buckeyes in assists with 334 and averages 9.82 assists per set. She has had 40 or more assists in four matches. Mia Tuman has added 251 assists and averages 8.96 assists per set. She is just 13 assists away from tying head coach Jen Flynn Oldenburg for eighth in career assists. Tuman currently has 3,200 career assists.
- Avshalomov has a team-best 218 digs, which is an average of 3.89 digs per set.
- Schoonover leads the team in total blocks with 42. Jones, who is second on the team with 41 total blocks, has a team-high eight solo blocks, while Schoonover and Jioshvili-Ravva each have five solo blocks.
