
Jungåker Named WCHA Defender of the Week

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State women's hockey junior defender Mira Jungåker was named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association Defender of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Jungåker led the team with five assists from the blue line and tied for the highest on-ice rating of +6 in the Buckeyes' first conference games of the season at St. Thomas. After a two-assist outing in game one, she recorded a career-high three helpers in game two to help the Buckeyes to a pair of 5-2 wins against the Tommies.
Jungåker, who is in Ohio State's top defensive pair, helped the Buckeyes limit St. Thomas to 19.5 shots per game. On special teams, she helped the penalty kill finish 3-for-4 on the weekend and added her second assist on the power play this season.
