Amanda Schlueter secures her third brace in a row and Ava Bramblett nets her first of the season

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Senior Amanda Schlueter delivered another dominant performance at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium on Saturday evening, with her third brace in as many games an assist to power Ohio State to a chippy 3-0 shutout victory over Northwestern.

The Buckeyes wasted no time getting on the board, striking early in the fifth minute. Schlueter set up defender Ava Bramblett, who had a clean right-footer to the back of the net at the 4:58 mark to give Ohio State an early 1-0 lead. Schlueter then doubled the advantage herself in the 26th minute, finishing off a pass from Callie Tumilty at 25:48 to send the Buckeyes into halftime up 2-0.

While Northwestern pushed to cut into the deficit in the second period, Ohio State goalkeeper Peighton Northrup and the defense kept the Wildcats off the scoreboard. Northrup turned away both shots on target she faced to secure the clean sheet.

Schlueter put the finishing touches on the victory late in the match. In the 87th minute, Berkley Mape connected with Schlueter, who buried her second goal of the day off the post at 86:30 to seal the 3-0 triumph. Northrup finished with two saves on the afternoon as the Buckeyes controlled the tempo from start to finish.
