Filin Named Big Ten Player to Watch

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Nikita Filin, a sophomore from Glenview, Illinois, was named a player to watch in 2026 by the Big Ten Conference, the league announced Friday.
Filin posted a singles record of 11-4 last fall while advancing to the 2025 NCAA Doubles Final along with teammate Brandon Carpico. The pair finished as the national runner up.
The duo also earned All-America status along the way.
Filin and Carpico finished with a 15-3 doubles record and enter the spring season ranked as the No. 5 doubles team nationally.
Ohio State opens the spring season Jan. 18 with home matches against Toledo (10 a.m.) and Xavier (2 p.m.).
